Night Swordfishing Charters

Swordfish in Fort Lauderdale have become one of the most popular and sought after fish in our area. They are incredibly brutal fighters, they are extremely good eating and they are a great trophy fish. In our swordfish trips we run about 10 miles offshore, to the middle of the Gulf Stream current. We set up our drift with squids, live blue runners and glow sticks. Shut down the engines and wait for the bite. When that swordfish takes the bait, there isn’t any rush in the world to match it. Swordfish are famous for taking brutal runs and dives. I’ve caught just about everything that swims off Florida’s coast and I have never found a fish stronger than a swordfish.

There are 2 ways that we can get you out on a sword fishing charter. You can charter a boat privately to yourself to take you and your group out. Or you can join our open boat swordfishing trip that goes out every Friday night. Either trip is a great way to catch a world-class gamefish, right off Ft. Lauderdale’s coast.

Our Private swordfishing charters leave at 6PM and return at 2AM. You can take a maximum of 6 people and everything is included except drinks. We supply all your rods, tackle, licenses, bait, coolers and ice. Juts show up and we take care of everything for you.

Our open boat swordfishing trip is every Friday night from 6PM-2AM. Space is limited to the first 15 reservations maximum. We charge $100 per person. On this trip, normal drift fishing tackle just isn’t heavy enough. You need to use at least a 50-80# outfit to potentially land a swordfish. Our normal reef fishing tackle that we use on the Catch My Drift is lighter tackle. For this reason you must either bring your own rod and reel to use(a heavy duty one), or we have heavy-duty Rod rentals for $15. So far our weekly swordfishing runs have been very successful and this has become one of our most popular trips. Seats fill up quickly so be sure to book in advance.
