Night Swordfishing Charters

Fort Lauderdale SwordfishingSwordfish in Fort Lauderdale have become one of the most popular and sought after fish in our area. They are incredibly brutal fighters, they are extremely good eating and they are a great trophy fish. On our swordfish trips we run about 14 miles offshore, to the middle of the Gulf Stream current. We set up our drift with squids, live blue runners and glow sticks. Shut down the engines and wait for the bite. When that swordfish takes the bait, there isn't any rush in the world to match it. Swordfish are famous for taking brutal runs and dives. I've caught just about everything that swims off Florida's coast and I have never found a fish stronger than a swordfish.

Friday Night Swordfishing Trip

On the Friday Night Swordfishing trip, we take out 6 anglers aboard the 46' Big Game sportfishing boat. This is a shared charter, so the trip is made up of a few small parties put together. The price is $200 per person and is all-inclusive. There are never more than 6 persons on the trip. We supply all the heavy tackle rods, reels, bait and everything for fishing on the trip. You just have to bring your own food/drinks. You may bring your own heavy tackle gear if you like, nothing less than 50 pound test and 80 pound test is prefered. Swordfish are excellent eating fish. On this trip, every angler that comes gets an equal share of all fish that are caught. We have freezer storage available for free upon request. To reserve this trip, please buy tickets online or call Capt. Andy at (754)214-7863.

Private Swordfishing Charters

Private swordfishing Charters can be arranged as either Dayime or Night Sword Trips. These trips are totally different from eachother in the way the trip is structured and the technique of fishing.

Swordfishing Fort Lauderdale

Daytime Swordfishing
10 Hours 7AM-5PM
We start off our daytime swordfishing trips by trolling out to fishing grounds. Trolling offshore is very effective for mahi-mahi, tuna and wahoo. When we get out to fishing grounds, we start our swordfish drops. Swordfish lie down on the bottom during the daylight hours, 1000-1400' down on the bottom. To catch them, we deep drop all the way down to the bottom with electric reels. It is possible to hand crank them, but you will see after the first drop why we use electric reels. For some unknown reason, the average size of swordfish we catch daytime dropping is much larger than the average swordfish we catch night drifting. When it's time to head home, we troll back through mahi-mahi territory to hopefully pick-up a few last gamefish on the way home. And we always have the odd chance at catching a billfish such as blue marlin, white marlin and sailfish.

10 Hour Charter $1150 7AM - 5PM

Night Swordfishing
8 Hours 6PM-2AM
At night, trolling is not as effective as during the day. So on our night trips we run, not troll, out to fishing grounds. At night, swordfish rise up to the warmer surface waters to feed. We set the boat up on a drift and stagger our baits at different depths and distances from the boat. Each bait is fixed with a flashing strobe light to attract the swordfish. We keep the baits positioned at the proper depths and distances from the boat using balloons, which sort of act as large bobbers. When the bobber goes down, you've got a monster swordfish on the line. Night swordfishing generally yields more bites and overall fish than day swordfishing trips.

8 Hour Charter $1250 6PM - 2AM
